Re: portland swap meet
Lots of good parts at the meet before. It also has a lot of the 67-72 trucks for sale too.

What are you looking for? Portland is a long way to go from Edmonton.

Re: portland swap meet
Cooters
The Portland swap meet is excellent , bring money and when you see something you can't live without do the deal , it won't last . I've made some great buys , and i've lost some also , waiting for the price to come down , lol. I haven't looked at this years schedule , but it usually opens up at the Drag strip end on Thurs . Plan on being there early , the good stuff will sell fast . I'll be there . Later ......................................... 409

Re: portland swap meet
Better double check the dates , they've been moving it around a bit lately . I was told it's later .

Re: portland swap meet
I love Portland. Been there as a vendor for at least 4 years now. One problem is getting items you buy out of the meet. There is no parking close by - they run shuttle buses to an offsite location. Makes it difficult to haul a hood on the bus. They do have a pick-up location but it takes a long time in line.
Swap meets in Puyallup, WA at the fairgrounds on Feb. 10-11 and Feb 17-18 are easier to haul parts from. Should be hoods, grills, cores, fenders, and doors at both meets. Along with several board venders and members.

Re: portland swap meet
I've been going to the Portland Swap meet for years. Sometimes I find great buys, other times I don't. Dates for 07 are April 13 - 15 at the Expo center. On the same dates there is another swap meet at PIR raceway just a few blocks away. I've never hit the one at PIR so can't comment on that.

Re: portland swap meet
That's the first time I've seen "Portland" and "rust free" in the same sentence.

Re: portland swap meet
This has nothing to do with Portland, it's more for the southern guys, but I was at Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach over Thanksgiving and I was tripping over 67-72 truck parts! They were everywhere, lots of doors especially. Just a thought for this Thanksgiving.

Re: portland swap meet
I look forward to the swap meet this year. I wanted to go last year and it was drill weekend for the National Guard.
Not sure how good the PIR meet will be if they are the same weekend. |

I hadn't been to this in years and finally went again last year with another member, his son, and neighbor and had a really good time.

Re: portland swap meet
The PIR swap is good , i've found some great pieces there , lots of truck parts . One vendor comes with a restored 72 Open Road camper as his tow rig , i believe he has a Harley that travels inside , then he wheels it out thru the rear sliding door , pretty cool . PIR is a lot easier to get big parts out of than the Expo end , but if it rains ( when it rains ) indoors at Expo is the place to be , i'm going . Puyallup also .
