straight axle on 76 2wd truck.
how hard is it to put a straight axle under my 76. i do not need the 4x4 i just want to lift it with like 8" springs and make it big. i have a jeep to play around in. i just want it big. what all is involved in putting a 10 bolt or so under the front

I did that years ago and it worked out good . the best that I remember it was the axle hub to hub , springs , spring plates , U bolts , 4X brackets & bushings , 4X cross mount for motor with mounts , changed the steering box and pitman arm to 4X type & added longer brake lines . I'm not sure if the 4X cross member raised the engine , seem's there was something about that whatever it was .
