Strong Arms (tubular) vs. Stock A arm

what's your opinion, when going with an air bag setup, are you having better luck with the stock arms or is the tubular upper and lower the way to go on a 1967-1972. in my case, who's going to see the tubular arms or is it money well spent to spend more.

It depends. Nobody will see them, but they are nice. If your stock arms are in good shape, then stick with them. If your just going with a basic bag setup, then stock arms work great.

ART's tubular arms offer revised geometry for the lower ride height vs. stock arms.

I thought that was the case as well, but I wasn't 100% sure and I'm still not sure on how much.

I will be switching to tubular arms at some point, but I am torn between that and the C4 drop member. It comes down to performance/bling vs. low and laid out.

Adding the Strong Arms does give you 3 degees more caster than the factory set up. One more thing to consider if you are trying to decide what to do is if you are going to keep your factory arms and put all new bushings and balljoints in them it isn't much more to go ahead and get the tubular arms with all the new stuff already installed .

They are modified trailer fenders by Devious Custom. I believe the are Firestone bags all around. Here are some pics of the rear 3-link!

Dude.. install and fab work look great! My only suggestion would be to upgrade to the new Kevlar sleeved bungee straps. With the original bungee I think you will notice wear thru and fatigue issues.....

At least - after mulling over the comment above (and researching to find) that it'll cost me $250-300 to buy replacement bushings, etc. and I'm going to hafta pay $50/ea pair to have my arms sandblasted and coated...it almost makes more sense just to spend the add'l $300 and get tubulars all the way around. I found that Godfather Customs here in town has the DJM 73-87 tubulars for around $600 out the door (with 10% off, no tax and free shipping, if possible.

Sorry for the year-old post bump, but I just haaated seeing questions go unanswered

DJM has good prices but the lowers are setup for a spring and not a bag.

The Air Ride Technologies tubular arms use the stock size ball joints. You can order them for any year truck 63-87 and they will have the correct ball joint combo for your year, or you can order the 73-87 set up for those spindles if you wanted to put the factory style disc brake kit on the front of your 68 for example. We use the 73-87 style of upper and lower cross shafts that allow them to fit all of those years with the ability to interchange the different ball joints in the same control arm. You can pretty much come up with any combo for those trucks and still make it work. If you guys have any more specific questions feel free to give me a call.
