heater motor
y is my heater fan only blowin on hi ? no low or mid

ridin big yo 5in cpp lowerin springs in back lowered 3in in front with cut springs for now 5 lug swap and disk in front 5 lug and disk in the rear with 3.23 gears mild 350/400heads 7547weiand intake 600 Edelbrock chrome block hugger headers 2 1/2 pipes in to a x pipes super 40 flows and turn downs turbo 350 with shift kit |

Mine did that just the other day. check the connection to the switch, i wiggled it and it started working properly again.

your heater switch is actually a resistor. resistors dissapate voltage by way of heat.on low, the resistor restricts the voltage to the blower motor. on medium, it restricts less and the motor blows faster. on high, the voltage goes straight through from the battery to the motor. resistors do burn out over time. so if its not a loose wire, most likely the switch is burned out. when it burns out, the switch no longer lowers the voltage and your blower motor blows full on. hope this helps

Are you sure that the switch and resistor are one in the same??
I'm looking at a catalog and it shows the switch and resistor as separate parts.. Unless there's something I'm missing... The resistor is from $5 to $8... My heater blows on high only too.. But, I thought I saw the resistor at one point, but I may have pulled it out trying to find a short... Elias |
