Re: vent window removal-help????

The are 4 or 5 philips head screws around the door jamb part of the door that have to be removed. Then you have to remove the door panel and remove a clutch head screw that is attached to the lower part of the channel. Roll the window down and wiggle it out from there. There's a little twisting and turning involved... Good luck...

Re: vent window removal-help????

There are three phillips head screws on the front angled edge of the door...one down low, one in the middle and one up at the top of the wing window. There are two phillips head screws behind the door panel below the window regulator. With the window rolled down, tip the wing window assembly, frame and glass, back into the window opening. As it tips back, pull it up and rotate it 90 degrees in toward the cab. There is a an oversized area where the wing window assembly track is allowed to slide out of the opening.

To install, repeat these steps in reverse. I hope this information is helpful and good luck with your project.

Re: vent window removal-help????

the window will pull out of the frame, might have to run a razor blade around it.
that is a rivet, you will have to drill it and replace it with the proper one.
why do you need to remove it?

Re: vent window removal-help????

What LilRed66 wrote to get the whole assembly out... to get the wing window out of the assembly/unit/frame...

That thing yer arrow is pointing at must be drilled out. You can buy a new one and repress it in.

American Classic calls it the: Rivet, vent window upper pivot

After you get that out, you look at the bolt at the bottom of the vent window, which you use to adjust the tension on the spring down there, to keep the window in position when yer riding along...

Here are some pictures of the bolt, with the vent window still in the truck door.

You take that bolt loose, the spring comes off... you turn the vent window sideways, like when it's open and slide/wiggle the rod out of the bottom of the frame.

I've been told by several folks that replacing that vent window seal is quite a job, until you get the hang of it.

Re: vent window removal-help????

You can also dip the window assembly in hot water to loosen up the setting tape, in addition to running a razor blade around it per joe231's suggestion.
