Craftsman Timing Light Parts
Has anyone ever seen replacement cords or parts for Craftsman timing lights? I have a fairly new light w/ the advance....but my truck ate the inductive pickup (the part you clip on the plug wires)- it slipped when I took it off the plug wire and it got caught up in the alt belt.
I've looked all over the net w/ no luck. The wire itself is still good but I really just need a replacement spark plug clip.....don't want to chunk a perfectly good $70 light for a $2 plastic part.... ![]() |

Re: Craftsman Timing Light Parts
model 21023 but they don't offer replacement parts for it. I just found onw for a different model light @ Summit, will probably buy that one and splice the wires......oh well. That's what I get for buying a nice light.

Re: Craftsman Timing Light Parts
I had an old sears Craftsman timing light, and just bought a newer Craftsman Variable Advance timing light. The harnesses were the same. The old one got a little burned when the pick up clip on the #1 plug wire got too close to the headers.
You might be able to find the non-advance timing light at a swapmeet or "used tool shop" for cheap and just swap it.

Re: Craftsman Timing Light Parts
you may want to call the Sears Repair Center in Bannockburn Ill. I dont have their # anymore but you could call 411 and get it. they are on route 43 (Waukegan Rd.)

Re: Craftsman Timing Light Parts
Sears parts line is 1-800-4-MY-HOME. You'll need the whole model number, which is usually a three digit number, a dot, then 5-8 other letters. For example, 123.45678
Some of the people you will get are morons, some are really good. If the part is unavailable, you will have to send it in to Sears Specialty Repair in Garland, TX. That will be a $69 charge.

Re: Craftsman Timing Light Parts
Forgot,
This is the Sears Parts Website. You can put in the model number there and get the same parts info/diagrams that the parts line looks at. http://www3.sears.com/

Re: Craftsman Timing Light Parts
Here's the part number for Sears timing lights 21027 and 21023 -- Input Cable Assy: 0038-000-0897. If they don't sell it, why list it in the owners' manual?

Re: Craftsman Timing Light Parts
Good question (and thanks for the part # as I lost the manual). There is nothing listed for the model # or the part # on the Sears part website JameslovesJammie gave- this was the first place that I looked but it seems that's for appliances. I'm gonna go over to the Sears HW store on Saturday and see if they can get me that part #. Hopefully it won't be more than the light was originally....
