Sounds like right brake is grabbing or the LF is not working. What kind of vehicle? Have also seen rear brakes out of adjustment cause same problem, disk or drum front??

Re: Truck pulls to the right when breaking.

It's a 71 C10, It has Disk brakes up front and drums in the rear. I just installed new pads up front, and had them cut the rotors. The rear brakes were checked and they needed to be adjusted. I'm wondering if they need more adjustment.

I was also told that aligment could also cause this problem, but I dont think that the aligment is really that bad, it does pull very little to the right when I'm on the freeway. When I brake is when you can feel it the hardest, I literally have to hold on to my steering wheel when I brake.

Re: Truck pulls to the right when breaking.

Can also be alignment, my wife is a service advisor at a chevy dealership, they had one in last week, same problem, pulled hard left when brakes were applied, after replacing rotors, brake lines and checking everything, including adjusting rear brakes, it was the alignment, this was on a 1996 Z71, I would adjust rear brakes, make sure the front pads have seated, and do an alignment, before I started replacing parts.

Re: Truck pulls to the right when breaking.

Cool thanx, I was thinking about swinging by the alignment shop after work. I'll do that before I start replacing parts.

Re: Truck pulls to the right when breaking.

if it is pulling to the right only when you are braking, i would check your left front brake line, im guessing the rubber line might be pinched somewhere not allowing fluid to get to that left front caliper causing only the right side to grab and pull you sideways. just my 2 cents.
