fuel tank help
have a 69 c10 shortwide wanting to move the fuel tank to the back under the bed and i am needing to know a few things my dad is building it out of alum. i want to run the fill neck straight up and not to the side.
what sending unit would i need . best way to vent the tank or what would i need to do for this were could i get a alum. filler neck i know there is someone on here that builds the alum. fuel tanks but i cannot find the info on it anymore any help would be very helpful also i just want to add that this has been the best site by far for getting help and answers that you need when building a project truck thanks to all for having this site and helping keep this site going |

I only know this, and I am sure you will get some responses, but I believe fuelcellguy is the one you are talking about. I agree this is a great site!

yep, fuelcellguy makes them from scratch. I think that you use a 90ohm sending unit.. good luck.

With all the SWB swaps, I have to wonder, is there room to put a tank above the driveline, just behind the cab and under the bed in a LWB? It would be nice to jut run the filler upper to the stock location.

classic performance products shows some measurements for an aluminum
gas tank on page 58 of their catalogue. a square tank would be 9 inches deep, 19 and 1/4 inches long and 27 and 1/4 inches wide. they show a slope of 2 and 3/4th inches from front to back. I assume for exhaust clearance coming over the axle. They also show some bed fill gas fill necks. Also early classic enterprises website has a nice tech article on mounting under the bed tanks.
