A/C box questions

does anyone know if they changed the A/C box under the hood at all between '73 and '80? I need a new evaporator core and I found out there are two different series. The truck is a '74 but with a '78 cab and I'm wondering will a '74 evaporator core fit correctly into the air box or should I order one for a '78? thanks

Re: A/C box questions

Best way to find out is go to the lmc online catalog and look it up, I know there is a difference in the way the accumulator connects.

Re: A/C box questions

I looked through LMC and according to the catalog the accumulator will fit both styles of evaporator cores but I am wondering if the evaporator cores are the same as far as mounting and dimensions for inside the air box on the fire wall. Also the accumulator I bought from them won't thread onto my evaporator core even when it says it will fit that year. I want to replace the evaporator core anyway due to it being beat up a little and open to the elements for a few years.

Re: A/C box questions

I'll try to see tomorrow, I have a 78 & 86 and I'll try to find the difference.
