The unimaginable happened

I was restoring my grandfathers '53 truck (I learned to drive in it). Everything original worked beautifully; all gauges, engine, electrical, tranny. Hardly any rust. Get this: Tornadic winds dropped a three foot diameter oak limb directly on top of it, crushing the cab and box and bending the frame. I am still stunned by this crazy event.

Perfectly running 216 with transmission and rear axle still OK. Low mileage engine. When we replaced the rear main seal, you could still see paint on the last crank bearing. Anyone interested? Hate to send it all to salvage but I have lost all interest in this project.

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! If you're trying to sell something you need to subscribe and post it on the parts board. If you're trying to give it away you'll have better luck on the appropriate year board.

Yes, definately subscribe. Great investment. Then sell or give away your truck if you need to. Lots of great members in that area to buy a new project from, I'm sure. Keep checking. Welcome to the board.

Re: The unimaginable happened

Welcome to the board from Western Kentucky. Would love to see some pictures of the truck. Maybe befor and after pictures. Sorry to hear what happened but boatpuller is right. You might wish you kept the old truck being in the family and all.
