My new truck
This is my new truck. It is a 72 Chevy 2wd with a 350/TH350. It is mostly original and hasn't been tinkered with much. I traded my 71 4x4 for it. I am MUCH happier with the 2wd. The body and mechanics are much better. I tried to take a picture of the option sticker but I couldn't get it close enough to read and in focus too (cheap camera). Hopefully as I complete repairs and upgrades I will post more pics. I replaced a fuel hose from the hard line to the fuel pump today, I'm surprised the thing ran. I touched the hose and it started leaking. Also, I TURNED BLUE TODAY!!!

Re: My new truck
First plan is to make it safe and reliable. I want to get all 4 tires the same size, replace shocks and rebuild the brakes. There's nothing wrong with them but I just want new stuff. I'll also change the body bushings as they are aged. The engine runs perfect and trans shifts real good. Then I will work on cosmetics. It doesn't need much body work if regards to panel replacement. I don't know why the PO sprayed primer over the paint. It was medium red according to the option sticker. I think I'll go back that color so I don't have to paint the interior.

Re: My new truck
He sprayed primer so people would think you lowered your 4x4 when you traded.
Looks like a good project, keep us updated.

People I work with don't even know the difference. They think it IS the same truck.

Re: My new truck
I would almost be just the opposite, and give up my 2WD to get a 4WD. Good luck with your "new" toy!

Re: My new truck
Yeah, I drove the 4x4 a 150 mile trip to trade it and then the 2wd back. It was like switching from a log truck to a cadillac.

Re: My new truck
Kinda looks like your 4x4's little brother. Looks like a nice start to me. And by the sounds of it you have a good plan in mind. Get her safe first and go from there. BTW nice to hear about another person happy to be BLUE.
