I would like to know what anyone has run on this combo...I have headers that used to work, but my new crossmember just will not allow for it. I also cannot have them stick out beneath the frame, for obvious reasons. I was thinking about a set of block huggers or rams horns, anyone have any suggestions?

i would go with ram horns but it is totally up to you .

seems to me something in faq i saw a couple of yrs back didn't find it. anyone have link to header fitment on our trucks,especially with powersteering box adapted? anyone selling header kit to make your own. local muffler shop doesn't want to bend custom pipes unless he's doing job.

I think building you're own headers is the cool thing to do.

If you have never done it before it sounds real difficult but it really isn't that difficult. If you have a mig welder and a little welding experiance you can do it.

Here is the first (and only) header I built for my dwarf car.

A good shorty header for the lowered 73-87 guys is the shorty header originally for a 78-87 Monte Carlo/Malibu. Seems like they were around $250 or so in Summit last time I checked (for the coated ones).

I bought the J tubes from a local hot rod shop. You should be able to buy J tubes, collectors, and flanges from Summit, Jegs, PAW, etc.....

than just start cutting the angles you want out of the J tubes.

Here is a couple of pictures from the internet.

I think it would be cool too make a set of fenderwell headers.
