GMC Pauls
I don't want to start any battles here on who is better, but I was wondering how well GMC Pauls stuff compares to Early Classics?? I have heard all kinds of good things about ECE, but nothing about GMC Pauls. Also, I've read on here where a few people have had trouble with CPP items. Am I to assume about GMC Pauls that no news is good news??? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Re: GMC Pauls
There is some great feedback on here about GMCPauls; I've dealt with them before and they were GREAT! Very knowledgeable, very customer oriented. They care about their customers and they are a board vendor, so it's always nice to support those who support us.

Re: GMC Pauls
these are definitely the kind of things that I wanted to hear! I was thinking about going with their deluxe disc brake conversion, and I was hoping that it was good quality. It's definitely a better price than ECE's disc brake conversion kit, but sometimes the cheaper way to go isn't the best way. It sounds like I don't have anything to worry about though. Thanks for you guys' help!!

Re: GMC Pauls
Just look at GMCPauls signature block... If they made it, he owns it so you can be sure that he knows his business. And he's a hoosier so that's a ++ for me....

Re: GMC Pauls
I buy all my parts from him and him only, unless I can get it at the local auto parts place.

Re: GMC Pauls
I've seen the GMC Pauls disc conversion first hand, I'd go with ECE. I'm not bagging Paul, the kit is o.k. I just thing the ECE is a little better. I like to stick with ECE for suspension stuff and Paul for anything else.

Re: GMC Pauls
+1 for me too.
ECE for brakes and suspension. None better. I've ordered from GMCPaul before and it was a very positive experience too. I'd highly recomend him. Still, suspension, it's ECE all the way for me. I also buy a large number of parts from a guy at all the swap meets named Kenny McClenahan. www.kennystrucks.com. Been buying from him for 14 years.

Re: GMC Pauls
And yet another thumbs up for Paul.
Part of my order was back ordered but they were more than willing to find the stuff somewhere else and get it to me now. I wasn't in a hurry so waited for them to get it in but if they are willing to get it from someone else and get it to me to keep me happy,,,,, that's the customer service I will return for! I've never dealt with ECE so I can't say anything either way about them. Hope it helps Frank

Re: GMC Pauls
This was my kit . I would go with ECE for a conversion kit (6 lug) if I were to do it over again. No problems with customer service ( it was great) or any of the other parts I received from GMC Pauls. All of the suspension I bought from ECE (spindles, springs, shocks, shock and sway bar relocate kits, track bar kit) is absolutely top notch. Not a single issue. I wish all aftermarket parts I bought were this painless.

Re: GMC Pauls
GMC Pauls dropped and stopped the front of my ride and the kit was complete and came promptly.
I have no experience with ECE, but for more comments on either, check the review portion of the board.

Re: GMC Pauls
DirtBall, I'm confused. You said that you had the Pauls disc conversion kit on your truck and you were happy with it, but that you would go with ECE if you had to do it all over again. Does the ECE stuff seem like better quality?? If its the same quality and great customer service, why would somebody pay the extra $200 for the same kit???

Re: GMC Pauls
I have never ordered anything from him, but his signature list says alot. It hints to me that he just might like the 67-72 line-up a little:

Re: GMC Pauls
A quick story:
I ordered the clear marker light kit from GMC Pauls (off ebay no less) and they looked great. About a month after I installed them, I noticed the metal trim around one of the markers was missing and the other was loose. I glued the loose one and sent him an email asking if I could buy a trim piece to replace the missing one. I also noted that I couldn't find the bulbs that came with the set at NAPA and I misplaced the ones that were included. I got an email that day saying the trim wasn't available separately. 3 days later I got a package with a complete marker light and a box of bulbs. No charge, no problem. I have bought everything I could from him ever since. I have also steered my friends his way as well. You can't put a price on service like that.

Re: GMC Pauls
Based on all the glowing reports i've read on this board, I placed an order with GMC Paul about a couple weeks ago.
The order was shipped immediately, recived it within 3 days. Once i recieved my order, i noticed one item was backordered, and he didn't give me a chance to call in, because it appeared at my front door the next morning. I'm very happy with the service and inventory. He's got a customer for life.
