Front sheet metal
Finally got the front sheet metal together so I thought I'd post some pictures.
Trying to line up bolt holes with replacement fenders is a pain. |

Yes, I'm planning a pie cut for the hood. That will be a tense moment
 . The fenders fit ok not OK!. The real problem area is up front where the filler panels fit inside the fenders. None of the rivet holes will line up and the curved ends of the grill opening don't seem right. The Chevy assembly manual shows gaskets for that area that get stapled on. I may just weld it into one piece. I'll also weld up all the body seams. To get the grill in I had to force it into place. What am I going to do when everything is painted? At the back of the drivers side fender where it meets the cowl there is a definate mis- match. After checking the passengers side which turned out ok, I think I'll have to cut the cowl and raise it up to match the fender. The top of the rear fenders have some concave areas that will have to be hammered up into shape. I'm jealous of you rust free truck owners!
