I need someone help
I found on Summit web site an adapter that convert from 1bbl to 2bbl for a certain type of carburetor, the guy there told me that what installed on my engine inline 292; the monoject is bigger than what should be installed on the adapter… I thank him for his support….
Can someone explain to me working mechanism of the carb and manifold, if I manage to customize an adapter that fit on a 4bbl carb on a stock 1bbl manifold would the carb. 4bbl Work? |

Re: I need someone help
I will take a stab here.
The proper way to install a 2/4 barrel carb. in place of a signal barrel is buy the complete intake assembly. These intakes have larger Pentiums and runners to allow the extra air/fuel to mix better before entering the cylinder. Also unless your engine is built pretty good I would suggest leaving the 4 bbl on the shelf. Then move to the ignition system and up-date to a high output performance coil and wires etc. Then to the exhaust system. A signal header would be better than the stock manifold but split headers would be even better for getting the extra flow out of the engine. When I was a youngster I installed a 4 bbl adapter/carb. to my 2 bbl intake, Yeah it did run but not much of a performance gain and sucked the gas and didn't stay on there long.

Re: I need someone help
It sounds like you would be creating a huge mess for yourself. Can your engine benefit from a 4bbl carb? Even if it can, I doubt the intake is up to it. I admit, I'm speculating here. These comments are not based on any experience with the setup.
You might check with Clifford Performance. They are the folks that specialize in six cylinder performance parts. http://www.cliffordperformance.net/M...gory_Code=C250 Slonaker Last edited by Slonaker; 05-07-2007 at 11:46 AM. |

Re: I need someone help
My 79 has a L6 in it. Would love to put on a header and differ. intake but I have that head that has the header and intake combined.
