Window regulator exchange-
Does anyone know if a '70 window regulator will bolt right in to a '72 door? They're definitely different, and not only the crank length. I have '72 doors on my '70 and want to replace them with the '70 panels, but the crank handle on the '72 regulator is too long, so I was gonna get '70 regulators, if they fit.

Re: Window regulator exchange-
Yes they will fit. The only difference is the length of the handle mounting shaft, as you noticed.

Re: Window regulator exchange-
You know what - I started looking at the door handles, and they look like the shaft might be too long too - I started taking it off, but somehow the wire retainer got twisted on the handle, and it's not coming off. But I'm thinking that I would have to replace that as well. They are both (the window and door handles) are raised off the panel. Has anyone ever done this before?? (replaced '70 panels on a '72 door)
