Glass Pacs.
Well I got some glass pacs installed on my 6 banger.
I wanted 15" , but the guy only had 12". Man these things are LOUD, and a bit high pitched. I hope they will mellow after a while. I almost forgot, that a 6 cylinder with headers , dual exhaust and glass pacs sounded like. Last edited by slepysal; 05-23-2007 at 10:45 PM. |

Re: Glass Pacs.
It won't mellow out, it will only get louder. Its a six! Keep it quiet.

Re: Glass Pacs.
It's not just a six. It's an old inline Stovebolt. Done correctly, a split manifold and duals on an old Chevy six can be arguably better sounding than most V8's. Hot rodders have known for years that that is one of the sweetest sounds known to man.

Re: Glass Pacs.
You just can't beat the sound of a six with duals! I love it...I'm building a 65 with a 250, headers and duals... I can't wait to get it started...

Re: Glass Pacs.
Nothing is better than watching the porch lights come on at 2 a.m. when you get your headers on and fire her up!

Re: Glass Pacs.
I'm runnin' a 250 from a 76 nova, it's a reliable workhorse, but the factory head/heads, do not "flow" well enough. So I'm still in dream mode to find some old Fenton headers or something to get it to the point you guys are talking about. I agree, a Six sounds absolutely great when it has a chance to breath!!

Re: Glass Pacs.
Sorry, back to the subject....
The glasspacks that I've run don't seem to get any quieter with use. |
