Re: Mpg?

3:73 gears front and rear.350 motor bored .06 over. 825 CFM Holley.Edelbrock Performer intake.Turbo 350.A/C.6" Lift.35" Tires...No gas tank at the moment.Motor still needs a pulley system and distributor, wires, and plugs to run...so I figure about 0 mpg.No tank, non running motor Hopefully I get above 10 mpg when it does run...but I doubt it does. You have to factor in the truck body which is half bondo until I get to working on the body panels again..

Re: Mpg?

69 Suburban with stock ?? gears and 31 x 10.5 tires. Four speed with a 205. It did get 16mpg highway before the lift. Not sure now.

Gotta remember automatics suck...up a lot of gas anyway.

Re: Mpg?

PO said before he quit driving the K5 he got about 15mpg. That was with a 350/350/205 with 2 barrel carb on 31" tires and 3.73 rear. It now has 400hp LT-1, 4l80e, 205, still 3.73 rear, and getting 33" tires, but not done yet. I am hoping to still get 15mpg or better or I am going to be pissed.

Re: Mpg?

inline 6 with 1 bbl rochester (permanently jetted rich, unfortunately): about 9 MPG.

swapped ring and pinion from 3.73 to 3.08 and noticed a small bump (about 1 MPG).

Re: Mpg?

My old 75 blazer on 33s, 4.10s, th350, 305 & 4 bbl got 19mpg highway after I rebuilt the carb. Around town I never checked.
The new 99 Z71 5.7 285s 3.73 gets 22highway 16town, not much better than the old blazer lol

Re: Mpg?

I was getting 11mpg around town with my 72 4x4, 3:73 rear. With Vortec heads, a mild cam and new dual flowmaster exhaust it has dropped to 8.9mpg. With the sound and performance increase its worth it!
