2 ohm vs 4 ohm Sub
Can someone explain the difference between 2 and 4 ohm subs? Pros and cons of each.

Re: 2 ohm vs 4 ohm Sub
Only difference is in the resistance (ohms),
Here's a link I got from google: http://community.crutchfield.com/forums/thread/890.aspx You just need to be sure about your amp, if it can push 2 ohm load, if you want to use 2 ohm subs, if that's where you are headed. There are many many configurations, too many. Another google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...ub&btnG=Search Wish I could explain a little more clear, but the google results will enlighten you a lot more than what I feel like typing right now.

Re: 2 ohm vs 4 ohm Sub
as stated earlier, the only reason that they manufacture the subs in different ohm loads is to match them up with your amplifier. This lets you get the most out of your amplifier.

Re: 2 ohm vs 4 ohm Sub
as stated above, it depends on what your amp is designed to run, and the minimum impedance should be listed on it...
For example: most amps nowdays can handle a 2 ohm load, so if you have a 2 channel amp that can handle a 2 ohm load, a single 2 ohm sub can be run on each channel. now if you want to run 2 subs or speakers on a single channel, you would connect (2) 4ohm subs together to achieve 2 ohms.

Re: 2 ohm vs 4 ohm Sub
To Clarify with (2) 4ohm speakers, wire in parallel and get 2ohms, or you can wire in series and get 8ohms.
