Turn Signal Lights

My front driver side turn signal isn't working on my 69 stepside. I was trying to get to the lamp to replace it. I can't get the plug to come out of the housing.
Is it a one piece unit? The plug will turn but it doesn't seem to have any notches for the plug to come out of the housing. Do I need to replace the whole unit?

Re: Turn Signal Lights

^ Yup, these trucks are old school. The lens needs to come off (two screws on the front of the lens) and you replace the bulb from there

Re: Turn Signal Lights

Okay, I removed the two screws from the front and all it does is let the light housing fall away from the grill. The lens is not on the outside of the grill. Is this not normal?

Re: Turn Signal Lights

Lens doesn't come off the housing. Do you think I may have a non-stock part?

Anyone?

Re: Turn Signal Lights

????????? It may be stuck to the gasket. Try putting a small screwdriver in between the housing and lens to see if it will pop out.

Does it not look like this?

Re: Turn Signal Lights

We are talking about the front turnsignal in the grill... right?

I'm sorry. I didn't mention that I have a GMC. The picture you have from the LMC catolog is correct for the Chevrolet, but I have the one below the picture you point out.
It would appear that I will have to replace the rivets when I replace the bulb. I will have to look closer tomorrow.
Thanks for the feedback. This board is the best.
