89 GMC Grill and supports
I was looking to buy the grill and supports from an 89 GMC truck and install it on my 81 GMC Short Box. The guy I was potentially buying from said that it wouldn't work with my truck, that I would have to get all the parts from a Suburban. Is this true? I have seen the conversions from guys on here, but not sure what will fit. Thank you.

Re: 89 GMC Grill and supports
He's right. GM changed the body style of the pickup in 1988. They didn't change the body of the Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban, and Dually until 1992. You need the core support, grille, and filler panel from a 1989-1991 Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban, or Dually to be able to update your 81 to the later style. ...Joe
