Value of a 72 4X4 Blazer?
There is one about a mile north of me here. It used to run until he took off the intake and carb, maybe headers. Not totally sure. He wants to sell it. It has the usual SD rust on it, but I haven't seen it personally. I just heard about it from some friends that talked to the guy. I think $100-$200 would take it easily. I found out from some other people that he paid $50 for it and then took off the stuff. Its just sitting back in some trees.

You could probably part it out yourself and make up the $100-200. If it is restorable, then it is definatley worth it. In addition to the usual truck rust spots, check the rocker boxes for rust. Also, make sure the top is in good shape, especially the rear hatch. If it has the original seats, it is definately worth that. The engine stuff doesn't really matter since any chevy 350 will bolt in.

Here's the scoop. The rocker boxes are SHOT. There is bondo in the right rear quarter. If you look in the rear wheel wells the spot in between the wheel tubs and the floor is rusting bad. Fenders are also shot. The engine will never run again. The trans is supposably rebuilt a while back. Has factory seats, the passenger seat needs to be recovered and the drivers needs foam and recovering. The top is good shape, seems to be a low spot in the middle though. It also has an ugly rack on the top. The hatch has cracks on the lower area of the back glass, but not BAD shape. Seems fixable. Um, what else am I missing. I told the guy I might give him $150 for it and he said he'll think about it. He also has a 72 4X4 pickup that isn't bad shape. Lots of little surface rust (rock chip size) but the rockers and corners need to be replaced. Average shape for 30 year old truck. He's not sure what he wants for it though. I was thinking ditch the body on the blazer and put on a pickup cab and weld a box to it, what do you think? or just sell it. All 4X4 running gear is supposed to be good.
