Would a two row radiator and a shroud be enough cooling for a sb 400 without a/c? Thanks.

Probably, if it's not clogged up. My 383 has A/C and a new 2-row radiator. It's marginal in the Texas summer, heating up to 220 degrees in traffic with the A/C on. I think boilover temp with a 50/50 mix and good pressure cap is around 250 degrees, so I'm still OK at 220. Once I'm moving, the temp drops to around 190. If I had to do it again, I'd get the 3-row. Just as important are a good water pump (I have a Stewart), fan clutch, and fan shroud.

I'm running a 4-Row on my hyped 327, and it never passes cool-normal. Previously I had a 2-Row, and it would heat up.

An alluminum 2 row w/ 1 inch tube might do it.

You might get away with it, but why take the chance? I'm building a 400sb for my 70, and it's getting a 4-core. The worst enemy a 400 has is heat, and it's getting harder to find good blocks.
