Line lock switch
I thought of this the other day and thought I'd share. One of the uses of the 68 is to bracket race, so I'm going to be using line lock.
The 68 is going to be packing an LS1, so obviously I won't be using the choke that is on the gauge panel. I'm hopefully going to wire it up somehow so that I can use the choke lever/knob thing as my switch for the line lock. |

Re: Line lock switch
I like my line lock switch to be on the shifter so i can flick it off with one finger and never take my right hand off the shifter, and my left hand never off the wheel.

Re: Line lock switch
Oldc' is right. The other guy will be waving bye bye by the time you turn the switch off. Get a shifter handle with one built in.

Re: Line lock switch
I am getting ready to install mine now.
Since I have a column shift I am looking for a dead man's switch to mount on the floor by my left foot, up near the firewall, kinda like a headlight dimmer switch, only it isn't a toggle function- just on when you hold it down. That way I have one hand on the wheel, one hand on the shifter, and when ready you will just let up on the switch and off you go. HTH

Re: Line lock switch
What I ended up doing was searching the Summit Racing site and found a switch that mounts right on the column shifter. You remove the big plastic end, then slip the little 'pouch' thing down on the arm, then replace the plastic end. The part has come but I won't get to it until next week late. I will post some pics of the install and of the finished product. I think I am gonna like it

Re: Line lock switch
A button on the steering wheel (on the lsft side) is a common one too
