Re: Where do I buy Parts for my new 79 Jimmy?
I just bought an '88 last month that needs much of the same--- one of the posters on this site is Captkaos and he is a vendor as well. I talked to him personally on the phone and he can get anything you need at good prices, and if he doesn't have it, he can refer you to someone who does.
Not meaning to exclude any other vendors, but the Capt is the only one i contacted, and i was pleasantly surprised at the personal interest he takes in his work. One of the other posters might know how to pull up the vendor list too, but i don't know how - its buried |

Re: Where do I buy Parts for my new 79 Jimmy?
There is still some good stuff in the boneyard to be had too. Don't overlook that. I've got tons of stuff for mine and local yards. Some isn't available in the catalogs (like my rear roll bar) and some is. I got a complete, zero rust tailgate (minus window regulator/glass) with all the trim for $40. the trim was mint and would have run me $300-400 from LMC.
I've got things from later years and put them on mine like the underhood light that unhooks from the base and shine it where you need it (90 sub). I've found two complete factory tach instrument clusters. Plus various bits of trim, nuts/bolts and other miscellaneous stuff for mine there. I've found and restored a set of door panels, rear window regulator too. Most of the stuff at the boneyard is pennies on the dollar compared to re-pop stuff. Some stuff you just have to buy new and others you can't and need to go scrounging. I like the hunt in the yards. I usually end up with somthing I need.

I can get the headliner, 81-91 rear bed panel upholstery, carpet and seat covers for the Blazer/Jimmys. Call since it isn't in the catalog.
