Body allignment question...
I'm soon going to be getting the body work done on my 2wd blazer. It's going to need floors, rockers, supports, etc. Should I replace the rubber body mount bushings before this work gets done or after? My driver side has a considerable sag to it. (There is quite a large gap between the door and the fender and a normal sized gap between the door and rear body panel. I think it's because of sag.) Is there a difference between blazer bushings and pickup bushings? Does anyone know what the total distance is suppposed to be between the frame and the support? (Bushing plus shim?) And finally, anyone have a part number for the poly bushings for 2wd blazer? Thnaks.

The assembly manual mentions shimming to align gaps in the door openings. With that being said I would do the bushings first. I have read some prefer the factory rubber type over the poly for squeeking and not enough give in the poly bushings!
There is a difference between pick up and blazer bushings. There may even be differences between 2 and 4WD? I know GMC Pauls carries the full rubber bushing set with bolts. I bought a set, I have not installed them yet. |

Somewhere in the manual is a good drawing with the gaps. I am doing the same thing that you are now. Most on here say body mounts first. I have considerable rust in the pans. I am doing the pans first and then the mounts. Didn't want to unbolt and jack up a rusted floor that might stress another area. Just my .02
