power brake conversion ???

i just converted to power brakes on my 71 c10. the brakes are super touchy. the lock up real easy. i made an ajustable push rod, so im pretty sure thats not the problem. the booster is also brand new. its off a 71 3/4 ton. dont know if that matters.

any input would be great thanks!!!

Re: power brake conversion ???

Did you add a power booster only?
Did you add disc brakes?
Did you use the correct proportion valve?
Did you change master cylinders?
Correct master cylinder? (drum/drum or drum/disc)
Which wheel(s) lock up?

Re: power brake conversion ???

factory disc/drum. only added the booster. and never opened the hyd. so no need to bleed. the rears are looking up with minimal pressure on the pedal.

Re: power brake conversion ???

Mine was the same way, just needed to get used to having good brakes. Those 3/4 tone set ups have a lot of braking power.
