Cory is going to laugh that it took me this long to check on this...

I have a hole in my rad... I don't think it can be soldered and I have been told that they don't make the rads for our year anymore- is this true? can i get one from the states?
Does anyone know of one close to Vancouver that is in beautiful used shape, if not??

You can get radiators just about anywhere (at least in the states).

Although it's possible that one particular manufacturer stopped production on these years-- I doubt seriously that 'they don't make them' is an accurate statement. I would try another manufacturer & if that doesn't work I used a late? model ( 78-87 ) elcamino radiator in my beater 68. Dimensionally it fit w/only minor fabrication needed for the lower hose connections because they have different diameters (an easy fix w/parts store aluminized tailpipe sections).

You might want to see about having it re-cored (if the rest of the radiator is in good shape). Any radiator shop should be able to do that for you. It might be cheaper to buy a new one though.

I would encourage you to check with a local radiator shop. I buy a lot of stuff mail-order because for a lot of parts that's the only way you can get them. But I always have better luck if I can buy locally - if something goes wrong it's much easier and cheaper to take it back to a local place than deal with a mail order place.

I bought a radiator from one of the mail order places and wasn't happy with the quality. They took it back, but I had to eat the postage. Wound up getting a good quality one at a local radiator shop.

i got an 80's big block radiator and had them change the lower radiator hose angle, fits perfectly

I bought a rad from a 72 caprice with heavy duty cooling. It has 3 wide cores (like 2 core rads) replaces a 4 core I believe. looks great! It is the exact same height as out rads and fits with the brackets in the outside position, 2" wider than my stock 6 cyl rad. Otherwise exactly the same. It was $200 Canadian, + tax of course, but I saved $100 over buying the same type rad for my truck new. Got it from Parts Source here in saskatoon, in stock. I did lots of shopping, this was the best deal, next was $240 for a good recore, and now I have a still decent 2 core rad kicking around for something else!

I just bought a 4-core Modine locally WITH heater return ( a lot of dicount radiators don't have these)----------$144.50.
