Re: new socks on sender

you can replace just the socks if the rest of it is ok.

Re: new socks on sender

If you find a place to buy JUST THE SOCK please let me know...

I looked at Napa, Autozone, Checker, Pro auto parts, the dealership, LMC, and many many online stores to try to find just the sock, and couldn't find a thing. If I remember correctly also, the sock is permanently attached to the metal washer on the pickup tube.

Good luck with this one. I'll be watching to see what you come up with.

Re: new socks on sender

You can replace just the sock/strainer, however if your replacing the tank due to rust, and stuff....sounds like for the whole $60 the sender will cost, I would just replace everything Tank, Sender...a sock will come with the new sender

Re: new socks on sender

The "sock" is a fuel pump strainer. ACDelco Part # 5651711, Im sure there are more part numbers and brands.
