Re: Pics!!!!! (if they work, lol)
I'm guessing you did all the fabwork/welding yourself?
Very nice work. |

Re: Pics!!!!! (if they work, lol)
I see that the C notches are welded to the frame on the inside, but bolted on the outside. Is that to allow for flex? Looks good!

Re: Pics!!!!! (if they work, lol)
Thanks for the comments. I found the pipe in a local "scrap" yard. The c-notches were bought from CCP. They are a bolt in kit. I am expecting ALOT of torque from the Caddy motor so I though boxing in that area would be a good idea. Same idea was used for the trailing arms. They are only held together with about 10-12 spot welds from the factory.

Re: Pics!!!!! (if they work, lol)
Sorry to say but the trailing arms need to flex. I tried boxing and welding some on a dirt track car. All I got was handling problems and broke rearend housings. Went back to stock arms and it worked great. Your welded ones will work if all you want to do is drag race but if you are going to drive it on the street your going to have problems. Otherwise looks like nice work.

Re: Pics!!!!! (if they work, lol)
Looking good man...You are correct in boxing the trailing arms.
The flex should come from the pivots, links, bushings, springs/bags, tires etc. All aftermarket suspension components are always built stronger than stock replacements. The boxing is the way to go
