Missing all rear lights including back up lights. All fuses check good. Any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks

Re: 72 Super Cheyenne light problem
Had that issue and found that the wires coming through the firewall were seperated......however I still do not have reverse lights.I haven't really put that on my immediate fix list. Until I get a ticket for it/

Re: 72 Super Cheyenne light problem
In my 68 I have another connector in the back. My reverse lights didnīt want to work either. I cleaned that connector and they worked fine.

Re: 72 Super Cheyenne light problem
there is a plug ont eh firewall, and one under the bumper, actually at the rearmost crossmember, either of those could be unpludgged, but it isn't likely.
I would start with grounds. Has the been just been installed, and/or does it have a wooden floor? |

Re: 72 Super Cheyenne light problem
I had the same type problem a few weeks ago. It was a ground issue. Took the light assemblies out on both rears sanded the back of the housings and then the truck frame where they screw to the frame. All started working as they should then. Good luck.

Also, don't forget the reverse lights switch on the steering column...

Re: 72 Super Cheyenne light problem
About one month ago I bought an engine down by LA and was driving back from LA over the grapevine and I had no tail lights in the dark, not a place you want to be without lights. After scratching my head and calling a buddy with a wiring diagram I climbed underneath and followed the harness down the frame and there it was the round plug near the rear bumper I believe it was along the drivers side frame close to where they hang rear tires on newer trucks. The harness came loose just enough to still be hooked up but not make contact. If all your rear lights are out then that would be my best guess. Good luck
