New guy from Indiana

Just saying hello and looking for advice right now. I'm currently working on my 1972 C10 longbed fleetside. Lots of bondo and for some strange reason, expanding foam from a can, on the truck. Me and my dad are trying to figure out what to do first.

Then theres the 1990 C1500 Regular Cab, Shortbed stepside. Its the do-anything truck at my house, but were going to eventually fix it up some because its an exact copy except for one option of the first vehicle my parents bought as husband and wife.

Any input on what to do first for the '72 would be appreciated.

Thanks

welcome to the board... you should post pics of your trucks... otherwise you will see this little sign! I'm a fellow Hoosier too, currently stranded, I mean stationed, in PA...

Re: New guy from Indiana

truck looks nice, i'd drive it for now and save up some dough for a complete body repair then.... or just get a lot of HP and smoke some tires (on the country roads of course, did plenty of that in my days in Fairmount)

Re: New guy from Indiana

oh, ive already burned the tires a couple a times, once to my mom's displeasure on our carport (my dad just smiled, i told him i was checking to see if it had a posi) and then i hit a patch of gravel at 45 and laid some rubber down in front of my uncle's house at a party. i did drive it since i bought it in june until about last week, i only stopped because i have the itch to start on the small stuff and the electirical system is on the fritz. i shouldn't complain b/c i got it for about $3,900 and it looks decent.

Re: New guy from Indiana

to the boards from the Panhandle of Nebraska. I know what ya mean about expanding foam in your truck, I have some in the hole that leads from the brake booster. That was from the Previous Owner when they converted the truck to front discs. Have fun with the truck.....it looks good

Re: New guy from Indiana

yeah, my expanding foam is behind the rockers, in the cab floor supports and the cab corners. i guess whoever did the half ass resto job on it before i bought it liked the stuff.
