Exhaust Opinions - Stainless Steel

Hey guys

I am looking to get a complete 2.5" stainless Exhaust system for my truck, but I am hung up on mufflers.....The system will consist of "Ram Horn" manifold with center dumps, 2.5" pipes, no cats, mufflers, and then dumped right after the muffles, over the axle. The engine is a bone stock 350HD, with the carb tweaked abit for towing. The mufflers must be Stainless aswell

I don't mind if there alittle louder than stock, i would like a bit of performance but I don't want "really" loud, as I drive it everyday. What would your recommendations be, I have herd the magnaflows, and flowmasters...both to loud for my tastes.

Any thaughts would be appreciated,
Thanks
Cameron

Re: Exhaust options - Stainless Steel

Look into the magnaflow 4x9 case mufflers. They're stainless, very quiet, will never burn out and still give a nice deep rumble.

Look at Spin Tech mufflers

They offer 304SS for most all their products. I have never used them myself, but I know a few ImpalaSS guys that have them and the sound is awesome.

Re: Exhaust options - Stainless Steel

Well I went down to talk about the system

We are going with custom bent 2.5" pipes, true duals all the way back. With a stock SS replacement mufflers with 2.5" in, and 2.5" out. So it'll breath alittle better than stock, and still be quiet. Then it'll be dumped after the mufflers, over the axle

The system is going to be around $1500 tax in for everything. Including replaceing the manifolds

Re: Exhaust options - Stainless Steel

If noise is a concern at all you shouldn't use dumps under the bed. Route it out from under the bed and end the pipe at a 45 degree angle with the ground. It doesn't have to stick out, just enough to get the noise traveling out from underneath the big reverb chamber that is your bed.
