dash bezel won't come off!
What am i forgetting? I have unscrewed the chrome bezels around the knobs, unscrewed the speedometer, the screws on the dash bezel. When I try and pull it out, it feels like there is something else on the back holding it on.

Yes, I pulled the light nob also, and removed the metal piece at the bottom of the bezel above the column

Did you remove the oil pressure line behind the oil pressure gauge? and remove the wiper knob? There is a small set screw on the knob itself.

Seeing as how I have had mine out several times the last couple of months, I can give you a detailed list of what I have to do on my 72.
1) Disconnect light & wiper switches and locking rings. 2) Remove 6 screws that hold the bezel to the dash. 3) Disconnect speedo cable. 4) Disconnect oil pressure gauge line. 5) Disconnect wiring harness on the back of the bezel. 6) Drop the steering column. I remember some people on this forum say they did not have to drop their steering column to remove the bezel, but mine would not come out without dropping it. Good luck.

I never had to drop my column. I have a 3 in the tree and the bezel came out with no problems at all.
Good luck and let us know if all this helped

I think there's a nut behind the windshield wiper knob that has to come off. About 5/8 or something like that.

I usually get about twice that. I kept all my fuel receipts for a couple years and finally entered them all into XL and plotted the fuel mileage. You could sure tell when Colorady switches to the oxygenated fuel. Went from 10 or 11 down to 8 in those months. So tell me again how this oxygenated fuel saves our environment by making us burn more gas? I guess it makes someone feel like they were doing something...
I only commute about 4 miles to work, so the mileage doesn't kill me.
