fabricating tube a-arms

I've been doing some research on bagging my 63 and I was looking at the tubular upper a-arms as part of it. I'm curious, has anyone here fabricated their own? Is there any reason why you couldn't make a set with some steel tubing, metal plate, a chop saw, and a mig welder? Don't get me wrong, it would obviously have to be built strong to withstand all the stress but aside from that is there anything else? I would basically take the stock upper off and use it's shape as a template to get my angles correct as far as that goes too.
