where's Grumpys Garage?

Not too long ago I saw a pic on this board (I think car show pics) of a satin black 60-66 with "Grumpys Garage" and something like "Oil & Lube, Repairs, ph: BR-549" that was hand-lettered on the doors in white.
Anyone still have that pic, or know where I saw it?
thanks, Bill

Re: where's Grumpys Garage?

thanks fuelpump, I was thinking of doing something like this on my black 63. This is what I was looking for, something for ideas. These are cool.

Re: where's Grumpys Garage?

Thats a good idea...In fact my buddy from the local speed shop mentioned that to me as well....

Have my shop name painted old school on my truck. I'm thinking about it.

I think the biggest problem we'll have is finding someone who still does hand-lettering. Ever since the invention of vinyl lettering, it's kind of a "dying art."

Re: where's Grumpys Garage?

That blue 54 in the top pic was mine. It's gone now

anyway, I had a local highschool art teacher do it. Now he wasn't a fresh outta college guy, he was a 30yr. vet.

He did several designs and I chose that one. In hind-sight, I would've done the "grumpys" in a different font. I liked it origianlly, but after a month, decided I didn't too much. Wished it was more script.

Old sign painters are good at this type of work too. Look for one of them.

Re: where's Grumpys Garage?

What's up Sal..you know someone who could do that for me ??

I thought about doing it on the bed (in front of the rear wheel) in stead of the door...

What you think ??

Re: where's Grumpys Garage?

I saw a really sweet 64-6 swb that was on ebay that had "Lumpys oil service" on the doors. I love the way this truck looks.

I think that's the truck I was remembering. I thought it said something about "Oil & Lube." I really like that "old School" lettering.
thanks, Bill

Bowties,
Could you post a bigger pic of that? I'd like to get a closer look.
Thanks, Tim

Phone; BR-549....that was from the old TV show "Hee Haw" (oops, probably showing my age there, huh?)

Re: where's Grumpys Garage?

cool pics.

I've been thinking about doing something like that on my '65, since it's all beat up anyway. I'd paint it up and make it look distressed.

I've been trying to come up with what to put on it...

Woogeroo's Speed Shop

Woogeroo's Truck Shop

The House of Woogeroo
Truck Shop

then maybe my hometown or something...
