Parking brake cable Q:

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this q: I've got a parking brake pedal that just drops and I was told it was the cable. I want to pull the driver-rear wheel and repair it but have no clue how yet...pull an old cable tighter somehow? Thanks. Any photos would be appreciated!
