Re: Blowing off steam!!!
That sucks!! I would try and try to see if it can be straightened and if worse comes to worse, look for another chassis. It also sucks about the tranny, was there a warranty on it?

Re: Blowing off steam!!!
Well I bought the tranny from Jackson Performance Transmission in North Car. I sent an email to him, but it was a 3 m 3 y deal and I bought it back in May. So I don't think he will help me out. I have a few leads on frames but they are so far away! Oh well, will see what happens.

Re: Blowing off steam!!!
Ill keep both eyes and ears open for you on 61 frames for you. If your frame is repairable I know a guy who can repair it like new (John T 66 c-10 convertable) dont know what he would charge but bet you I could talk him down few dollars on it.

Re: Blowing off steam!!!
Thanks 283!! Its right where the exhaust manifolds are. Previous owner or two ago cut the frame with a torch for clearance when he put headers on this truck. It was cut on both sides!!!!!! So it must have done some structional damage to the frame, obviously! It looks like it weaknd it pretty good on the passenger side. Thats why it pulls so bad to the right and the alignment shop said there was nothing they can do. I have a 66 2 wd frame I'm going to put my body on for now. I'll find me another 4x4 frame one day!!

Re: Blowing off steam!!!
that really hurts when you know you have done so much work on something and then you got to turn around and do something else just hang in their every day is a new day, been looking for some good repairable 64-66 front fenders both sides for my 66 something that doesnt cost a arm & leg.Buying some really good looking 65 doors off of RicksTrucks still got a little bit left to pay on them the ones that were on her while back. Lot better shape than mine .Well talk to you later.

Re: Blowing off steam!!!
Sorry to hear about the frame and tranny man...
Can't you just swap out the crossmember and weld on some leaf mounts onto your 2wd frame ??

Re: Blowing off steam!!!
I thought about that too. I need to bring the frame to my house and look at it. I thought the rear of a 2wd was narrower than the 4x4 because of the trailing arms on the 2wd. I might be wrong.

Re: Blowing off steam!!!
Well...a 4x4 with a rear coil suspension would be cool !!!
I guess it depends on how much work you want to get into. Good luck man !!!
