4x4 rotors on drum hubs

Hi everyone. I did a search and did not find an answer.

I was doing some research last night and found the stock '60-'70 drum brake hubs bore size to be 108.00 mm (4.25"). I also found that '71-'91 4x4 rotors have the same bore size. Has anyone tried to put the 4x4 rotor onto the drum brake hubs?

Reason I ask is this is not uncommon to do on '67-'69 Camaro's, '64-'72 Chevelle's and such. You take the hub and turn down the outside diameter to fit inside the rotor hat and use '98-'02 Camaro rotors and calipers to get a 12" brake setup. Only have to build (or even buy) a bracket for the calipers to mount.

I am thinking of a similar thing to convert over to discs without needing to change spindles, arms, ball joints, etc. and keep it 6 lug.

Thoughts, ideas, comments???
