Re: feeler: What size lowering blocks would you want????

I may not fully understand, but how do lower a coil sprung suspension by "ADDING" blocks? Maybe I dont understand how the rear axle bolts to the trailing arms, do they not bolt onto brackets like a chevelle....they must bolt onto the top of the arm then, eh.
If that is the case....I would love to get some 5" blocks

Rear axle sits on top of the control arms. Put the blocks between the control arm and the axle, drill holes for u bolts, buy some longer u-bolts, instant lowered truck.

Anything more than 2" - 2 1/2" you run the risk of tearing up your shock mounts, and U-bolts if you have a flat tire. WES

Re: feeler: What size lowering blocks would you want????

I would not go anymore than 2", for safety. I would think rubbing a u-bolt while rolling down the road because of a flat would not be a good thing.

BTW I have 2" blocks and 3" springs on my project

Re: feeler: What size lowering blocks would you want????

I would go for a set of 1 1/2" or even 1". So when I do 1 1/2" drop spindles it will drop the back the same amount or less. Already have a 2 / 4 spring drop.

Re: feeler: What size lowering blocks would you want????

I'm thinking half inch increments would be best, but that's just me.

Re: feeler: What size lowering blocks would you want????

Anything in half inch increments is good for fine tuning!. If the blocks come with the extended bolts and hardware I might be interested otherwise I would just look for a complete kit that includes hardware.

1/2" to 3" in 1/2" increments. It's impossible to find anything bigger than 2" commercially. With today's larger wheel sizes, 2.5-3" will not drag w/ a flat. Undercut CPP by $10 a set and you will have people beating down your door.
