wiring help
iam building a 1966 chevy pu and when we put in the 350 with hei . we went to hook up the wires for the starter and they had all be cut off at the plug in the fire wall so now i have a 5 wires purple, blue, lite green, dark green, and a wire that has some kind of paper on it thats what it looks like. can some one help me were they all go . and i need to hook up to my hei dist. thanks jim

Here is a color wiring diagram I made off of a black and white one. Hope this helps. Keep in mind, this is for stock points set up. I suggest you buy a new harness from a place like "M and H". For 67 bucks you cant go wrong, its modified perfect for HEI, without the resistor wire. And it comes with the HEI plug so you can just plug it in. In other words its a no brainer!

I used the m and h wiring kit. I told them I had a v-8 with hei and it came shipped to the door and was a plug in set up with no problems.
