What year was the silverado package introduced as the top dog
Was the Cheyenne formerly top of the line?

Cheyenne wasn't ever top of the line. Cheyenne Super was in 73-74 though. Silverado took over from there.

Cheyenne WAS top of the line for beginning of the 1971 model year as Cheyenne Super was introduced midway '71.
