last night i was driving my truck and it was cold so we stopped in the local Quik Check and gassed up the truck and got ourselves a cup of hot coffee.. i got to thinking that there aint a single cup holder in this truck.. have any of yall done anything to remedy this situation... I hate those stupid clip on things they sell at ( or used to) at like autozone so has anyone fabricated anything or done anything to remedy this situation?

As long as the cup isn't too tall, the old "top of the dash leaning against the windshield" cup holder is perfect!

LMC sells an insert into our ashtrays for about $50 that looks pretty smooth

Well it's really not a cup holder but it's a keg!

Since i have bucket seats in my truck i have a nice flat spot on the floor of the cab to set it, It has a rather large foot print so it's pretty stable it's 52 Oz's of your favorite beverage hot or cold.

I got it @ wally world it's a Bubba Keg. Mine is black and grey like the one below so it matches my interior perfect. But they come in alot of other colors.

I have no A/C as of right now and on hot Texas days I just fill up my camelback with water and ice and lay it on the seat. Makes drinking very easy. No way to spill anything.

In his 85, Dad took one of those cheap plastic beverage holder things and Velcroed/glued it to his dashboard. Ugly but it works. Its on the dash right beside the Kleenex-box holder made of plastic odds and ends, also glued to the dash. Did I mention his clip-board and pen holder, also glued to the dash? I really should get a couple pics of his setup and post em here, I am sure everyone would get a good laugh out of it. Dad tends to think praticality takes precedence over looks

an interstate trip in a non-A/C truck on a hot summer day can get quite uncomfortable if you ain't got nothing to drink... but food, oh yeah, hell no, that's what diners and truck stops are built for, lol

The ashtray deal won't work for me since mine holds my air pressure gauge. I put my beverage of choice in the all but useless map pockets.

Here is my cupholder setup. I was thinking about getting the one from lmc but this one was only $3 at walmart! It has little spikes on the bottom that hold it to the carpet good enough that it doesn't move much and I really like it.

i thought the top of the dash was the cup holder....other than that i dont drink and thign that doest have cap on it and then i lay it in the seat next to me...i like that ash tray deal, but will it hold a 20 ounce mountain dew bottle...

i use to own an '80 Chevy pickup and the PO took one of those cheap hook style cup holders that are supose to hook in the window seal. cut off the hook part and screwed it in with 2 of the screws that hold the instrament cluster trim panel in....never used it but i would think it would work pretty good...

my dad had a pair of these mounted to the door panels of his '86 back in the day.

he's also proven that they will work well on a riding lawn mower.

i actually like the last one the best.. screwing into the dashboard is out of the question . I was planning on making one sort of like a console that would sit in the center of the bench seat with a section i could put receipts and maybe an estimate pad and all in but this looks alot easier and cheaper
if i cant get this piece ill let you know what happens when i try to make something

until i put a 90 chev truck console in i used the dash top for years, amazing how well foam cups stay put up there

I also use the top of the dash and rest the cup against the window. Another trick is if you have a tilt wheel, tilt it up, and rest the bottom of the cup on the bottom of the wheel, and the rest leaning against the horn. Hold it when you make a turn, then set it back when you straighten out.

I did have the wal mart cup holder that sits on the floorboard, and I liked it, until I accidentally kicked it over one day. If it was screwed to the floor it would have been fine.
