YA!! I went for my first ride tonight!
Let this be some encouragement for those of you doing a restoration project.......
After 3 & 1/2 years, I FINALLY took my first drive tonight! It was awesome! I sat on a milk crate because there is no interior yet, & it had a few odd noises, and a few electrical issues, but i had a BLAST! It's worth it! I can now see the light at the end of the $20,000 tunnel. LOL Thanks to you guys for keeping me going! |

Nice Looking truck. Congratulations on you first ride. Every time I do a "first" ride I drive my self crazy listening for noises. Next time I might just turn the radio on.

Re: YA!! I went for my first ride tonight!
When some says...."You got $25,000 in that Truck", to me....I just say "Take a stroll over to your local Chevy dealer and see what 25K buys ya". Nothing like my Lil' Red. And nothing like your beautiful yellow and white truck!!! Congrats on a great job!!!

Re: YA!! I went for my first ride tonight!
Yeah, nice ride!
My wife asked me "How much money is it going to take to get it like you want it?" I told her, "About as much as a new truck costs." So far, I haven't lied. The longer it takes, the more leeway I have in my expenses. I have already made a dent in the kids' inheritance...and am making a contribution to them to instigate a fight about who gets it when I am gone.

Re: YA!! I went for my first ride tonight!
Great looking truck!! My frame off is not far behind yours. I have just $30K in it so far and it's been going exactly 1 year now. Hopefully I'm about done buying stuff. Greg

Re: YA!! I went for my first ride tonight!
I did it!! It's a good feeling to be able to say that. Your truck looks super great. From here on in your into the fun stuff as everything that you do from this point forward produces instant gratification. Can't wait to see the interior pic's. Thanks for the advance peek.
esll.
