Clutch help on a L6 3speed 78 model
Does any one have any pictures of the bell crank and linkage? I just bought this old beater and the pedal is real stiff. Looking at the linkage from the front of the engine bay, the rod going to the clutch fork is at an angle shooting to the left. To me it looks like the z bar is either the wrong one or maybe installed backwards? I think I can modify it to work better but if it is in fact the wrong one I'd rather just go to the junkyard and get the right one. Here are some pics. THANKS!

Re: Clutch help on a L6 3speed 78 model
Thanks Spudz, the z-bar looks the same. Your picture shows that the rod goes straight into the fork. Maybe I've got the wrong fork or its just worn plumb out.. I had my wife help me out by pushing the pedal while I was under looking and the fork is bottomed out on the hole it comes out of on the bell housing. If I centered the fork she could press the pedal in much easier, but after a few pumps it just slammed to the bottom of the housing again. Guess I'm gonna have to tear it down to take a looksy in there. Perhaps the clutch fork, and or pivot are needing replaced. Thanks for your help!
PS the pedal is so stiff I noticed when my wife was pressing it in that the cab bushings were stretching!!

Re: Clutch help on a L6 3speed 78 model
It probably has a 3 finger clutch in it. The linkage won't have anything to do with the stiffness. If it isn't a 3 finger, does it run?
I have see people put the clutch plate in backwards...
