need help on a inline six
k my old man has a 82 1/2 ton with a six in it and A/T. how man diff six did they offer that year and what trannys did the offer also

i dont believe they offered the 4.3 v6 in that year so it was prolly the 250 Inline 6 cylinder and they would have had a TH350 or the TH400 trans and you identify them by the trans pan the th350 pan looks like a square with one corner clipped the th400 looks kinda like texas

250 or a 292 were the 6 cylinder options.
TH400, TH350 and 700R4 were the autmatic options. There was also a 3 speed manual and a 4 speed (SM465) manual.

wasnt the 700r4 only in Diesels in 82? ( not that it couldnt have been put in by a different ownerbut from factory)
