Anyone have pics of a 73-87 bed on a 67-72 truck??
I am doing this now and just would like to see the way it looks more. I like it. These are the only two I have ever found (and found here!) are there any more around?

My issue with the combo is that the wheel openings don't jive.

I feel the same way. But I also know you got a good deal on the bed, frame and rear end so....go for it. To me the 73 ^ fenders look more utilitarian than the 72 down. I just like the roundness of the 67-72 fenders. Nevermind me though. I'm afraid I don't have any pics to add.

Re: Anyone have pics of a 73-87 bed on a 67-72 truck??
I've seen that GMC before! My poor ol' rare '72 GMC K1500 shortbed has one on it.It was restored 10 years ago,was hit in the back and destroyed the original short fleetside bed, then they put a 73-87 bed on it.When I start working on it,I'm going to do like Bill (Palf70step) did and convert it to a 67-72 bed using 67-72 fenders (68-72 in my case for the sidemarkers) and using the 67-72 steps since they are different...all this work unless I find a 67-72 short step bed..As for the 73-87 or newer beds on 67-72s,I don't like them....

Re: Anyone have pics of a 73-87 bed on a 67-72 truck??
I saw a truck on ebay not too long ago that had a late model bed on it. They converted the front wheel openings to match the bed. It wasn't my thing.

Re: Anyone have pics of a 73-87 bed on a 67-72 truck??
haha...no disprespect 2bits. i try not to get too opinionated but that look is just hideous to me! just my silly opinion. i love both generations but together as ChevLoRay stated they don't jive. if you can get the bed for cheap it maybe worth a feller's time to rework the fender openings and lines to match the front?? im enjoying the pics regardless. good luck with your project. -steve

They'll wish they had that little five foot bed when they see the smoker trailer Thomas!!
Marty's gonna fix the fenders for me the right way. Those painted trucks don't look too bad. Since the 67-72 fenders bolt on, it won't be anytime until I run into a couple. I think I have found my first parts truck.

Doesn't look quite right. I like the late-model bed swap better. Plus you get rid of those stupid chains.
