Best way to cut down on picture file size...
Hey, i want to post up pics that i took over the thanksgiving weekend that i took with my dads new camera, but there all runnin at about 4.5 MB a piece, so i was wonderin if someone could tell me the best way to cut down on file size without really really killing the quality. I tried just resizing with microsoft photo editor but once i got to below 100kb it looked pretty crapy...
any ideas?? Thanks... BRAD

If you save your pics into a Photobucket(or similar) site, they're resized and it works well. That way you can keep all your progress pics organized and saved online to check out wherever and whenever.

Re: Best way to cut down on picture file size...
Go to your start button on your computer and see if you have a program called "Paint". If so go there, search for the picture you want and after you have it up go to Image and click on stretch/skew and reduce your picure. Start with 50% and see how that works. I have figured out that 35% works great for me..

http://www.irfanview.com <- a ver ynice basic editor and image/video viewer. freeware.
resize/resample images. Personally, I have found that it saves edit/crop time, if you set your camera to not take images that are bigger than your computer screen... -W |

vso image resizer, adds right click to menu..
select picture(s), right click>vso image resizer, choose options or leave default, click resize, end of story. Don't have to open up any program. I use this on windows vista, quickest one out there with best options and free! http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/
