Front clip??? '89 burb

What did the grille of the 89 suburban look like. Any pics? A guy at work is looking at one out in the country. He wants it for the tbi. I am thinking of gettin whats left for the front clip. I thought they had the flat side by side headlights set-up, and the single light work truck set-up. I also saw one on ebay that had the older 1986 type grille with the headlights stacked. Did they do 3 different grilles in 89?

Most looked like above pic, but there was a base work version with 1 larger sealed beam instead of the 2 small opes. The ones pictured above are getting harder to find and are not cheap!

Here's a 89 K5. As long as it isn't the 1 headlight version it should look like this. I'm not aware of there being a 3rd grille.

Re: Front clip??? '89 burb

I was told it looks like the 86 grille. It has the stacked headlights. He's sure of the year, and the grille style. I'm hoping it has the side by side lights. He just wants the tbi and 700r4. Maybe I can pick the body up cheap. I want the front clip. I guess I'll have to check it out for myself when he gets it.

If this is true, so much for my assumption that the Burb had the same grille as the K5 in 89.

They also offered these two styles as well. GMC version and the Chevy style. Not very common but that might be what the owner was trying to explain.

"Plumbnutz" you are right, they are the same as the Blazer.

Re: Front clip??? '89 burb

Look at the production date. it could be a "89" that was built in late 88 which had the "stacked" headlamps you are talking about. rember any GM vehicle built after the 6th month of the year is considered the next model year. so a truck built in 7/88 would be considered a 89
