3/4 ton to 1/2 ton
well, this is my first post on here. ive got a 64 chevy 3/4 ton. i work at a kustom shop in morro bay Ca. my truck is getting dropped(no bags) chopped 5", bed is getting shortened but not all the way to a shortbed. im making mine dead inbetween. well here is my question:
what all do i have to change in order to get it to be 1/2 ton? i swapped springs all the way around and shocks. changing out the rear end is coming ( not sure what im going to go with, but something with better gas mileage) and then swap the front brakes to 5 or 6 lug. any suggestions? heard that G-body cars ( mid-late 70's Gm cars) and early 70's pick up but whats the best? i have a 305 w/ a powerglide now. any help would be appreciated. thanks. johnny |

Re: 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton
Welcome to the board. 1/2 ton truck to 87 if I remember right. Get the arms and spindels and it will bolt right on. You will need to buy an adapter plate or do some fab work on your frame to put ps on it.
